Scrutineering & Documentation
- Scrutineering will be held from 3pm on Friday 19th October at The Copthorne Hotel
- Scrutineering will be performed on all cars entered in the Drag Racing and vehicles competing in the Funkhana that do not have a current Warrant Of Fitness
Here are some pointers you should check:
All Speed Events
- Your battery must be secure and the power lead terminals covered up
- Your boot, side pockets and back seats must be clear of loose objects
- Ball joints, steering and brakes must be safe and play free (a WOF does not automatically mean a pass at scrutineering)
Drag Racing Specific
- Your helmet must meet the required standards as published on our event website
- You must have a radiator overflow catch tank to reduce the potential for coolant spill onto the track
- All roll cages must be homologated with a MSNZ logbook
- Carburetors should have at least two return springs fitted
- A fire extinguisher is not necessary for the Drag Racing, but if fitted, must be secured with two metal straps in an easy reach position
Drivers Briefing
- Prior to each event, we will hold a driver’s briefing. It is imperative that all participants attend these briefings, as they will give you vital information about each event
Spectators
- Spectators will only be allowed in specified areas, which will be clearly marked and visible
- Marshalls will be present to ensure the safety of the spectators
- During the events, all children must be supervised at all times by their parents or caregivers
- No animals are allowed at the Motorsport venue due to safety reasons
Refreshments
- MOWOG will have the club BBQ trailer on site to provide limited food and beverages
- We are also hoping to have a coffee cart on site to keep your caffeine levels topped up
- You can leave the event at any point if need be, however it is your responsibility to be back at the event in time for your turn on the track
Fuel Strategy
- We recommend a maximum half tank to minimise the potential for fuel spill onto the driving surfaces
